Setting up and acceping payments using GoPayment

Downloading the GoPayment app to your phone

To get started, just download GoPayment from the App store or Market for your mobile device.  If your device doesn't have an App store or Market, visit https://gopayment.intuit.com/setup on your mobile device to download the app. If for some reason you can't download the app, you can use the website version at https://gopayment.intuit.com from your device's browser.

Now it's time to get started!

  1. Launch GoPayment on your mobile device.
  2. Sign in using your QuickBooks Online user ID and password.
  3. Enter charge amount, manually enter card number or swipe credit card, and tap Charge.
  4. In seconds you'll receive confirmation and have the option to email or text a receipt.

If you'd like to set up items and use those for your payments (Products and Services from QuickBooks Online are not downloaded onto the device):

  1. Launch GoPayment on your mobile device.
  2. Sign in using your QuickBooks Online user ID and password.
  3. Go to the Settings menu.
  4. Turn on the Items setting and choose Edit Items.
  5. Add the new item and enter the item details. 
  6. After you've added items and turned on the Items setting, the first screen when entering GoPayment will be the items screen where you'll tap Create Order; depending on your device, this screen may also be called Create Order.
  7. Follow the screen prompts, enter a Memo to Self if you want, and finish the transaction by tapping Charge and getting a signature (on a touch-screen phone they use their finger to sign; if a phone such as a BlackBerry doesn't have a touch-screen, it will process without a signature).
  8. In seconds you'll receive confirmation and have the option to email or text a receipt.

Note:  The options you'll have (tax, tip, and so on) will be different depending on which type of mobile device you're using. 

You should expect to receive your free Intuit Credit Card Reader within 5-10 days of signing up for GoPayment.  Until you receive it, you can always manually key the credit card information into your mobile keypad to process transactions.
